Ilya Averbukh's new project "Ice Age - The Battle of the Stars on Ice", kicked off last Saturday on Channel One. In this first stage of the competition, all contestants performed with their original partners, and we were thrilled to have the chance to see our favorite couple together again on television. They performed to a funny and explosive number that brought us back to the cheerful atmosphere of the recently passed New Year. In the upcoming episodes pairs will switch, and the audience will get the chance to see Oksana and Maxim skating with different partners. Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin will take part in the new series of "Ice Age", "The Battle of Stars on Ice", airing on Channel One. As the title suggests, this time the fight will be between the very best of the skating stars. Other participants will be Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov, Jana Khokhlova and Vitali Novikov, Elena Leonova and Andrei Khvalko, Naomi Lang and Peter Chernyshev, Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas, Irina Lobacheva and Ruslan Goncharov, Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski, Tatiana Totmianina and Maxim Marinin, and Maria Petrova and Alexei Tikhonov. The final shows of "City Lights" will be held in December in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Ilya Averbukh's acclaimed ice musical based on Charlie Chaplin's movie "City Lights", will feature Maxim Shabalin in the role of Pigne, a friend and associate of Tommy (Alexei Yagudin), and Oksana Domnina as his girlfriend. Oksana and Maxim will appear in many numbers in the show, including a brand new one featuring Tommy's friends.  Channel One is launching new TV project " Bolero". Throughout several weeks, eight prima ballerinas and soloists from the main Russian theatres will team up with eight figure skating stars, all Olympic and World champions. Some of the best teachers and choreographers in the world will assist them in creating some exclusive dances for the project.Maxim Shabalin will be partnering with Ekaterina Krysanova, leading soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre.
