The 2010 European Championships ended with victory for dancing couple Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin. Congratulations to the guys on their second European title! The new free dance, performed for the first time after Russian Nationals, is now beginning to show new shades, thanks to a more confident and emotional performance. Nevertheless, the judges pointed out several technical flaws, which resulted in low levels on both step sequencies and on one lift. As a result, the skaters only came second in the free dance portion of the competition, with Italy's Federica Faiella and Massimo Scali ahead of them by 1.73 points, but were able to mantain the overall lead and win the competiton. With the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games now less than a month away, they will need to work hard to improve the components of the dance.
Best wishes on a successfull preparation, and on more victories!

The Original Dance competition was completed today. Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin came second in this segment of the competition. Their performance of their Aboriginal dance proved their improvement in technical skills and power. The audience appreciated their performance in these unusual roles. Of course the guys have more work to do: their step sequences were only awarded level 3 and 2. This caused a minimal loss in this portion of the competition, where Italy's Federica Faiella and Massimo Scali came first. Despite being second in the segment, the guys mantain and increase their lead by 5.12 points.
