The Russian Figure Skating Federation conference was held in Novogorsk on June 4.
Aleksander Gorshkov was unanimously elected
President of the Federation, while
Valentin Piseev was appointed
General Director of the Federation. The General Director will be in charge of finding financial resources and sponsors. The conference also appointed 5
Vice-Presidents, the
Deputy for the General Director, and one
Executive Secretary.
In addition, the conference elected 16 members of the new Executive Committee. Amongst them were World Champions Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin. It must be noticed that it's the very first time that the Russian Figure Skating Federation's governing body elects actual skaters as members of the Executive Committee, like they did this time with World Champions Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin.
Congratulations to Oksana and Maxim on their new position as Members of the Executive Committee, and best wishes to them for a successful job in bringing welfare to national figure skating!
