Ilya Averbukh's new project "Ice Age - The Battle of the Stars on Ice", kicked off last Saturday on Channel One. In this first stage of the competition, all contestants performed with their original partners, and we were thrilled to have the chance to see our favorite couple together again on television.  They performed to a funny and explosive number that brought us back to the cheerful atmosphere of the recently passed New Year.
In the upcoming episodes pairs will switch, and the audience will get the chance to see Oksana and Maxim skating with different partners.

as you may know, Maxim and I will take part in the new series on Channel One, "Ice Age - The Battle of the Stars on Ice".
Unlike Maxim, who has already taken part in similar projects, I am experiencing this for the first time, and I am finding the whole process extremely interesting. I'm especially enjoying the fact that we get to skate each program with a different partner. In this way, each time I get the chance to learn something new, and at the same time, teach new things to my partner.

I hope that all the viewers and figure skating fans will be enjoying this new project as much as I do.

Ilya Averbukh's acclaimed ice musical based on Charlie Chaplin's movie  "City Lights", will feature Maxim Shabalin in the role of Pigne, a friend and associate of Tommy (Alexei Yagudin), and Oksana Domnina as his girlfriend. Oksana and Maxim will appear in many numbers in the show, including a brand new one featuring Tommy's friends.

Some of the best teachers and choreographers in the world will assist them in creating some exclusive dances for the project.

Maxim Shabalin will be partnering with Ekaterina Krysanova, leading soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre.

The show will premiere on  Saturday, November 5th at 21:15, Moscow time.

In July a video was shot to celebrate my hometown of Kirov and the Vyatka region, and in general about the importance of provincial Russia. As a fairly well-known member of the city of Kirov, I was invited to shoot a little part in the video. It was my first experience of the kind, but I found it very interesting!
