Interview after Free Dance
| Q : The first question is about the belts. Who thought about that? Oksana : The idea is of Sergey Grichushkin, he's an acrobat. He suggested to do it in the lifts. We took the idea and decided to use it not only in the lifts. Of course we checked that it's allowed to use in figure skating, and we decided that we must use it. Q : I understand that in order to make those elements you need special circus training? Maksim : Yes, when I go in the car, I have a some special equipment I train on while standing in the traffic Oksana : Everybody work with acrobats nowadays. Ice-dance became a mix of skating and acrobatics. Q: Yesterday, not everybody understood your original dance. How did you accept the silent crowds? Oksana : The dance is so original that not everybody understand it immediately. Some catch it later, after a couple of performances. Others like it immediately, some don't like it immediately. We are not surprised that some people did not get it right on. Q: So, from the first hands : what is this dance all about? What aborigens are those? A :Australian aborigens. The music is national Aboriginal of course. Q : About the FD, you had some problems Oksana : Yes, there were problems, I made some mistakes. Maksim : We had some problems, but we are glad that we skated. Problems always have to be shown and found. Perhaps we wanted to show everything too quickly and got carried away. But it's important to work from here, after we saw how it works real time. Q : You promise to work on it? Oksana : Of course! There's no other way! | |
